Origin: The winerys vineyard sites are all located in the heart of the Mittelhaardt between Ruppertsberg and Forst. The soil classification under the Royal Bavarian Property Tax Act of 1828 shows that the winery has an exceptionally high proportion of first-class sites. This forms the foundation for wines of the highest quality. At Bassermann-Jordan, the Burgundy grape varieties are deliberately offered without a vineyard-site designation because, in these winesincluding the Chardonnaythe character of the grape variety takes center stage. The Chardonnay vineyards are located around the winery in a variety of sites. Light, sandy loess soils, in some areas with weathered Bunter sandstone.
