Product description Bckling fillets contain high-quality protein, a balanced composition of essential amino acids, valuable vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. They are easy to digest due to their low connective tissue content. Fontaine Bckling fillets are an ideal appetizer, a decorative addition to a small buffet, or simply a snack between meals. The herring used by Fontaine (Latin name: Clupea harengus) comes from the Northeast Atlantic (FAO 27, Norwegian Sea). Herring are schooling fish. They are specifically located using echo sounders and caught with nets. The mesh size of the nets is regulated and must be large enough for young fish to pass through. All Fontaine herring products are MSC certified. MSC is a globally recognized certification program for sustainably caught fish and seafood. MSC was founded in 1997, among others by the environmental organization WWF, to address the global problem of overfishing. Together with scientists, fisheries experts, and environmental organizations, MSC developed an environmental standard for assessing and recognizing fishing operations. MSC stands for the English name Marine Stewardship Council.
