Since its founding in 1924 in Haro, Rioja Alta, Ramn Bilbao winery has repeatedly reinvented itself without forgetting its roots. Today, it is led by winemaker Rodolfo Bastida, who embraces adventure and sees innovation as a driving force. For him, wine is not a static product but a journey shaped by time, patience, and continuous development. This philosophy is reflected not only in the wines but also in the iconic labels, each of which tells a new story. Every detail on the bottles symbolizes movement and transformation: a hot-air balloon carrying a wine barrel recalls the winery's pioneering spirit; a bicycle with a globe motif floating from the balloon represents the curiosity that drives the winery; and a sailor riding the waves on an oversized clock embodies the perfect balance between past and future. In the vineyards of Rioja Alta, Tempranillo and Garnacha grow on mineral-rich clay soils under the influence of the Atlantic climate, giving the wines elegance, depth, and structure. Ramn Bilbao goes beyond the traditions of classic Rioja wineries. Sustainability, innovation, and precision in viticulture are central to its approach. In 2018, the winery became the first in Spain to receive the Wineries for Climate Protection certification. Solar energy, resource-efficient irrigation, and modern cellar technology support its future-oriented approach while leaving room for the craftsmanship that gives these wines their character.
