BREMSENBREMSE horseguard provides reliable, long-lasting protection against tropical and native insects such as horseflies and mosquitoes, including the Culex mosquitoes common in Germany that can transmit West Nile virus, as well as ticks. The active ingredient icaridin is recommended by the WHO for mosquito protection, including in tropical regions, and provides protection for up to 8 hours on humans at the concentration and dosage used here. According to horse studies conducted in accordance with the TNsG guidelines for mosquitoes and ticks (PT19 Technical Notes of Guidance for Efficacy), BREMSENBREMSE horseguard, with its active ingredient complex of icaridin and EC oil h/c from the leaves of Eucalyptus citriodora, repels Culex pipiens for up to 4 hours per application. According to a horse study, it has sufficient efficacy against African ticks that have migrated to Germany (Hyalomma marginatum). The BREMSENBREMSE horseguard formulation is persistent against biting insects while being gentle on materials and dermatologically tested. It has a pleasant lemongrass scent and does not stain.
