Anyone who has cut or grated horseradish knows its effects: eyes water, noses run, and cheeks redden. This is caused by the pungent compounds in the root, which are released when it is chopped. With Bresc's tasty, easy-to-use horseradish puree, you can season dishes easily without having to grate the root yourself. The root is not only a source of flavor. It contains compounds that may have a positive effect on the body. Glucosinolates, also known as mustard glycosides, are secondary plant compounds. Mustard compounds prevent bacteria from multiplying. For this reason, they are said to help with infections in the body, particularly an emerging bladder infection and colds. The root also contains flavonoids such as quercetin and enzymes such as myrosinase, as well as vitamins C, B1, and B2 and minerals. Bresc horseradish puree is suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets. It is excellent in vegetable stir-fries, salads, and dressings.
