Product description Les Coteaux de Fourns On the outskirts of the idyllic village of Fourns, with its 900 inhabitants, in the heart of the oldest canton of Remoulins, lies the small Les Coteaux de Fourns wine cooperative. The village is known for its diverse soils. Millions of years ago, the Rhne flowed here, leaving behind a rich legacy of clay soil, sediments, and minerals that give the wine its strength. Large pebbles from the Ice Age also remain. They store the suns warmth and release it again at night, which has a very positive effect on the ripening of the grapes. In addition to the many hours of sunshine, the area also receives strong winds from the northwest, known as the Mistral. These winds ensure that the grapes dry quickly, which is one reason the cooperative experiences almost no fungal diseases. The grapes for Bois de Brignon thrive in the vineyard of the same name on coarse gravel soil. Bois means small forest and refers to the areas former landscape, when a small oak grove stood here. Today, only one oak tree still stands proudly in the vineyardreason enough to feature it on the label.
