Product description Fraxinus excelsior, known as ash, European ash, or common ash to distinguish it from other ash species, is a flowering plant in the Oleaceae family. It is native to mainland Europe east of the Caucasus and the Alborz Mountains, as well as Great Britain and Ireland, the latter marking its western boundary. European ash rarely lives beyond 250 years and does not flower until it is 30 years old. Its leaves are compound and green, usually with 37 sessile leaflets. The name is etymologically derived from the Latin word fraxinus. This slender tree, widely known for the flexibility of its wood, has been known for its benefits since antiquity. How to make tea: Place 1 teaspoon of the bark in a cup of boiling water. Cover and steep for 1015 minutes. Strain and drink. Remember: Herbs are not a substitute for medication.
