Latex care If you want to enjoy your latex clothing for a long time, it is important to care for it properly. 1. Household oils, mechanical oils, and grease can cause serious damage to latex garments. Keep them away. 2. Extreme heat will melt latex, including heat from radiators and candles. 3. Sunlight causes discoloration. Do not expose latex to sunlight for extended periods. 4. Water and high humidity can damage and discolor latex. Keep it dry. 5. Metal, including pennies and similar items, will stain latex. Keep latex away from metal. 6. Sharp objects, including long fingernails, can easily cause holes or tear your latex garment. 7. Sweat will damage latex over time. Keep it clean. 8. Leather can also damage and weaken latex. Fill a bucket with some warm water, add one or two drops of shampoo, and wash the latex in it. Then rinse thoroughly with fresh water so that no shampoo remains. Latex storage Keep it dry and dark. Protect it from sunlight, or apply some talcum powder to the inside. Colored latex can stain other colors when stored close together. For blouses or garments with buttons, fasten all the buttons when hanging your clothing.
