Geogard 221, 1 Liter by Dragonspice Naturwaren

Description

ECOCERT-approved preservative. Geogard 221, also known as Cosgard, is a well-tolerated preservative for use in cosmetics and personal care products. Geogard 221 is virtually odorless, with a slight almond scent. It is transparent and dissolves in water, glycerin, and alcohol. Its water solubility is limited and, above a certain amount, it will no longer dissolve in water. It should therefore preferably be added to the emulsion, or a solubilizer should be used when dissolving it in water. Geogard 221 can be used in a variety of products, including creams, soaps, lotions, shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, mild baby cosmetics, and sunscreen products such as creams and lotions. It is a very good alternative to parabens. Preservative properties: Geogard 221 is a broad-spectrum preservative that prevents the growth of bacteria, yeasts, and molds. Recommended usage concentration: 0.51% (approximately 1 drop per 10 g of product for 6 months of shelf life); 2% (approximately 2 drops per 10 g of product for 12 months of shelf life). Optimal pH range: The pH must be below 6.5; otherwise, Geogard 221 will not preserve the product. Adjust the pH accordingly with lactic acid. INCI: Benzyl alcohol, Dehydroacetic acid
