Gian Marco Venturi entered the world of Italian fashion with the discretion of an old-fashioned gentleman. Yet the character of fashion is created through elements of invention and production. Venturi's men in ties and waistcoats, silk shirts, and shoes made of the finest leather personally reflect the image of his fashion. His designs branch out from this look. The distinctive qualities that established Venturi among the most fashionable designers are always projected into the future. They fulfill the wishes of potential consumers by creating clothing with redesigned lines, new details, and new color combinations. All of this is creation that becomes style. Gian Marco Venturi transferred the typical tailoring of exclusive designs to industrial production, creating a perfect balance between quality and price. Although he earned a degree in economics and commerce to please his parents, he had been passionate about fashion since his youth and also attended the textile institute in Prato. After graduating, he created his first denim models with a friend. Lebole made him initial proposals, which he declined in order to preserve his own direction. He therefore entered into collaborations with major companies, contributing his designer signature to the knitwear collections of Marcko's Alexander, the prt--porter collections for Erreuno, and Sader's leather goods. In 1979, he began his own dynamic prt--porter line, which was well received by critics and the public. His first men's collection, presented in Milan in summer 1980, was a success and encouraged him to launch a women's collection the following season. From the beginning, all the defining characteristics of his style were present: the search for unusual fine fabrics, graduated volumes, precision of cut, and precision of workmanship. His brand grew very quickly from then on. In 1985, Gian Marco Venturi S.p.A. was established, and alongside prt--porter it began producing sportswear and underwear, men's shirts, ties, socks, leather goods, jewelry, perfumes, and eyewear. In addition to three single-brand boutiques in Japan and 12 franchise outlets, Gian Marco Venturi entered exclusive agreements with Swank Shop in Hong Kong and Taiwan and with Man and His Woman in Singapore. Gian Marco Venturi products were also distributed through more than 500 highly regarded retail outlets in Italy and abroad. Venturi described the ideal man and woman for his fashion style as Rupert Everett, for his natural elegance and distinctly European class, and Charlotte Rampling, because she is a chic woman with pronounced femininity to which the years have added a new, subtler charm. Although Milan is the city where his professional sphere expanded, Florence remains his city, the place he returns to. Whenever he can, he runs to Florence to care for his plants. The plants inspire his sense of color. Florence is sometimes considered a provincial city, but it is precisely in this city that new trends emerged at least six months ahead of other cities. It is a small but international city. The Venturi man is 30 to 35 years old, fashion-conscious but not swayed by excess. For him, the quality of the fabric and tailoring are crucial, while functionality is not neglected. The Venturi woman prefers a clean look that follows fashion trends without being overwhelmed by excesssimple and elegant. In summary, the stylistic product created by Venturi, developed both in clothing and in all accessories, represents continuous evolution, always free from unnecessary frills that fashion can acquire through its changes. Venturi's favorite colors are pure colors above all: white, black, and red. In this way, the world of Gian Marco Venturi has grown and spread, establishing itself for more than 30 years with a consistently current and successful style. Today, Gian Marco Venturi products focus on classic and casual clothing, accessories, eyewear, shoes, leather goods, pajamas, underwear, swimwear, home furnishings, and fragrances.
