Groh Winery Grohstoff Chardonnay QbA 2015 Dry (1 x 0.75 L)

Description

• Bechtheim lies in the southern Wonnegau region; limestone and marl soils are ideal for Burgundy grape varieties.
• The selectively harvested grapes are gently pressed and temperature-controlled fermented in stainless steel tanks. 25% of the wine matures in second-use barriques.
• A bouquet of ripe pear, quince, and melon aromas. Juicy on the palate, with plenty of richness and subtle acidity.
• Serving suggestion: with medium-bodied meat dishes, Asian cuisine, game poultry, and pork.
• Fine-fruited, juicy, and rich.

Until the 1980s, Deichelgasse in Bechtheim was known by a very different name: es Grohe Gssje (Grohs little lane). The villagers primarily associated the family winery with Kohle, however. Great-grandfather Heinrich Groh (born in 1868) acquired his first vineyards from customers who were unable to pay and settled their debts with land. Over time, the winery grew and flourished, and its vineyards are now cultivated by Axel Groh. The winery produces straightforward, characterful wines in its basic range, while genuine expertise is evident in its premium wines. It is rare to taste Burgundy wines and Chardonnays from wooden barrels that are so finely crafted. Ingredients: Contains sulfites. Manufacturer/importer address: Deichelgasse 8, 67595 Bechtheim, Germany.
