Salt lick stones made from pure, untreated natural salt for your horse. Our salt lick stones come from the northern part of the Salt Range in the Himalayan Mountains in Pakistan. The snow-covered peaks are approximately 150200 km away. This salt is more than 250 million years old and is therefore free from contamination found in today's seas. It contains a wide variety of essential minerals and trace elements, as found in the ancient sea. After being mined, the stones are individually processed and classified by weight. They are then drilled to provide an option for attachment in a salt lick holder. The stones are washed in salt brine and dried in the sun. After drying, each stone is individually wrapped in film and packed in a carton. This helps prevent contamination and protects the stones from dust and dirt. Makana salt lick stones are food-grade quality and can be stored indefinitely when kept dry. Unlike industrially manufactured and pressed stones, these salt lick stones are also considerably less sensitive to moisture. Table salt quality, >97% NaCl. Suitable for horses. Instructions for use: Store in a dry place.
