Product descriptions Restharrow root Restharrow root (Ononis spinosa) is native to southeastern and eastern Europe, but is now found not only in Europe but also in North Africa and Asia. The plant's name, urinary herb, indicates the properties attributed to it. The active parts of the plant are harvested in autumn, dried, and cut. The dark, fibrous, almost woody roots are used to prepare a bittersweet tea. To prepare tea from restharrow root, use 24 g (approximately 2 teaspoons) of the cut root. Pour over with 150 ml of boiling water. Cover and steep the restharrow tea for 30 minutes. It can then be strained through a tea strainer. The tea may be consumed three times daily. The daily dose of 612 g should not be exceeded. The active ingredient from restharrow root is also available in coated tablet form; however, preparation as a tea is preferable because of the increased fluid intake.
