Processing: This premium Demeter-quality basmati rice comes from a Demeter farming project in the regions of Bahraich and Uttarakhand at the foothills of the Himalayas in India. This rice project gives Indian farmers a new perspective. After harvesting, the rice is cleaned and husked. The so-called silver skin surrounding the rice grain is then gently polished away. The basmati rice is fragrant and particularly aromatic in flavor. It is suitable as a side dish or as a base for a wide variety of dishes, especially Indian, Middle Eastern, or Persian cuisine. Both the cultivation and the packaging stand for sustainability. The packaging is made from 100% renewable wood-based raw material. It can be collected entirely with waste paper and is 100% recyclable. Through a long-term partnership with Bergwaldprojekt e.V., Spielberger Mhle finances the planting of trees as well as the care and preservation of existing forests each year. This enables forests to regenerate naturally, allowing new trees to grow and the forest to thrive. This closes the paper cycle by offsetting the paper used for the packaging and giving something back to nature. Preparation: Basic recipe: Rinse the rice in a sieve with water until the water runs clear. Then bring the rice to a boil once in 1 times the amount of lightly salted water.
