Product description Cacao powder is obtained by drying, pressing, and defatting cacao beans. During pressing, the cacao beans are processed in a way that preserves important vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and especially enzymes that are destroyed at temperatures above 40C. At the same time, cacao powder treated in this way retains the flavor and aroma of the cacao beans. Both cacao powder and cacao beans contain more antioxidants and flavonoids than, for example, blueberries, red wine, black tea, or green tea. Cacao powder is rich in minerals, including magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron, zinc, copper, potassium, and manganese. The product comes from the Mexican state of Tabasco, and the cacao variety is Criollo.
