Rosemary (also known by its scientific name, Rosmarinus officinalis) is an evergreen, bushy, branched shrub with narrow, needle-like leaves and an intense fragrance. The rosemary shrub can reach a height of 0.5 to 2 meters, with brown, mostly upright branches. Originally from the Mediterranean region, rosemary has been valued for culinary use for centuries. The plant grows best in sunny locations with well-drained soil and is easy to care for, including when grown in pots on a balcony. The leaves are harvested and dried before being cut. Cut rosemary can be added directly to almost any dish. It is especially suitable for potatoes, game, and poultry, as well as salads and stews. For example, rosemary potatoes can be prepared by seasoning potato wedges with olive oil, cut dried rosemary, and salt, then baking them in the oven until crisp. Dried, cut rosemary can also be added directly to olive oil to make aromatic rosemary oil, which can be used for salads, pasta, and pizza. Rosemary is a versatile herb and an essential seasoning in Mediterranean cuisine, adding a distinctive note to dishes ranging from potatoes to meat. Storage: Store rosemary in a cool, dry place, ideally in an airtight container, to help preserve its intense aroma for longer. Contents: 40 g.
