Bat Masterson lived a fascinating life during the era of the American Wild West. He was known as a buffalo hunter, U.S. marshal, Army scout, fisherman, gambler, and frontier lawman, as well as a sports editor and columnist for the New York Morning Telegraph. His popularity with a cane grew from the television series "Bat Masterson." His use of a cane on the show was not originally part of the character's development; he had actually been shot in the pelvis during a gunfight by Corporal Melvin A. King. The gunfight was reportedly over a girl. The television series further shaped his image and helped turn the story into a legend that he had to carry a cane for the rest of his life. Masterson was portrayed by Gene Barry in the NBC television series, which aired 108 episodes from 1958 to 1961. Masterson was depicted as a stylishly dressed gambler, generally wearing a black suit and derby hat, and was more inclined to strike someone over the head with his golden cane. This cane replica should not be used to hit people. Consider it a celebratory piece of history that is not only stylish but also designed to retain sentimental value for many years.
