With a stainless-steel mouthpiece, this bit is durable, easy to clean, flavor-neutral, and rust-resistant. The Waterford mouthpiece is made entirely of lozenge links that flex around the tongue area. Waterford mouthpieces can be severe and difficult for the horse to pull against or lean on. It should only be used by experienced riders or under a trainer's supervision. D-rings provide additional steering assistance and prevent the bit from being pulled through the horse's mouth.
