The leaves have an enticingly spicy, aromatic fragrance and an olive-green to gray color. The plant offers its characteristic flavor with a slight bitterness. Store the cut sage in dark, tightly sealed containers. Due to the sages essential oils, the container should not be made of plastic. Preparation: Pour boiling water over the sage2 to 3 heaping tablespoons per liter. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
