Coffee from New Guinea comes from the eastern part of the world's second-largest island, located north of eastern Australia, in Papua New Guinea. Cultivation began there in 1927 with seeds of the famous Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, an Arabica Blue Mountain variety smuggled out of what was then the English colony of Jamaica, to the displeasure of the colonial power. VEE Organic Wild Blue Mountain is a wild, original coffee grown under strictly controlled organic conditions. It grows in the Morobe Highlands under ideal climatic conditions, on weathered volcanic soils facing the sea and rich in nutrients, at elevations of 1,100 to 1,800 meters. According to many experts, the wild Blue Mountain coffee from New Guinea is one of the best coffees in the world. Thanks to the more favorable climate and higher elevation, it is considered more complex and aromatic than Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee ever wasand it is affordable. Coffee from Papua New Guinea combines the lively, fruity aroma and delicate freshness of Latin American coffees from Costa Rica, the Galpagos, and Guatemala with the characteristic body and complex depth of Indonesian coffee from Java. VEE Organic Wild Blue Mountain is wonderfully full-bodied, with refined richness, very delicate and subtle acidity, and complex fruity aromas with hints of nuts, mango, and papaya.
